A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Daycare Yoga Family

Dear Parents,

I want to express my gratitude for the incredible privilege of guiding your children through the transformative practice of yoga each week. Witnessing the joy on their faces as they enter the room, greeting me with warm smiles or a cheerful "Hi Yoga" — yes, they call me “Yoga” — is an absolute delight.

I love to hear the random facts from their life they share with me before we get started, such as “My sister has a blue trash can!”

It brings me immense joy to observe the children embrace the essence of deep inhalations, visualizing their bellies expanding like balloons, followed by the release as they playfully "pop the balloon."

One of the highlights is hearing their sweet voices echo our weekly class mantra. This week's affirmation — "I am thankful for myself" — fosters a sense of self-appreciation among these young yogis.

Each week, I witness their determination and courage as they experiment with various yoga poses. The pride reflected in their eyes when they exclaim, "I'm doing it!" or “Look at me, Yoga!” is truly heartwarming.

Equally meaningful is the opportunity to instill confidence when faced with challenges. Reminding them that attempting a pose is a victory in itself, TBCM aims to cultivate a mindset where trying is synonymous with success. Whether they find stability in tree pose with a hand on the wall or all toes firmly planted on the mat, every variation is a cause for celebration.

Of course, teaching preschool yoga rarely goes off without a hitch. There are moments of chaos, with children running around the room or vying for yoga mats. I've even had classes where a child is in tears the entire time. However, amidst the mayhem, the children are gently reminded that they can always come back to their breath; in these moments, they are learning the powerful skill of self-calming.

Thank you for your sweet kiddos and the privilege of nurturing not only their physical well-being but also their self-esteem and resilience. Together, we are fostering a positive and empowering environment.

Sincerely,

The Balanced Child Method Instructors
